Relaxation
The relaxation exercise was a struggle for me. I do know that they can work because in the past I had migraines and would learn to picture the pain moving from my head down though my body and out. At this particular time I feel it will take me some practice to get my mind focused. My first thought was that the voice reminded me of a skit from Saturday Night Live. I tried to refocus and do what was asked but mind would start thinking of all the things I needed to get accomplished today. This alone tells me that I need to focus a little more on relaxation to reduce stress in this fast paced world we live in. I tried again this evening and it worked much better for me. I could feel the warmth but not really the heaviness and still had to work to keep my mind in the present moment. At the end I felt a little more relaxed but not really energized. It is certainly something that is worth working on.

ReplyDeleteHello Leslie,
ReplyDeleteI wanted to let you know that I felt some of the same feeling you had. I had a tough day and then sat down to do this journey, I do not think I was in the total frame of mind for this but did it anyways. I would feel my hands getting warm and the arms getting heavy, but there was not energy when I was done. I did not feel energized, tired and relaxed, yes. Could this have been because I was not in the right frame of mind before I started this journey of relaxation? What do you think.
I agree. I think when it comes to anything like this you have to be in the right frame of mind and also have the belief that it will work. I am going to keep trying as it woulld be great to reduce some of life's stresses and take some time to care for me!
